Maurizio Bologna

Maurizio Bologna graduated in Medicine and Surgery on June 14, 1978, from the University of Rome La Sapienza. Licensed to practice as a surgeon in December 1978, in 1982 he obtained a postgraduate diploma in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the University of Rome La Sapienza. Subsequently, in 1987, he received his postgraduate diploma in Urology from the University of Naples Federico II. From 1981 to 1983, he was a lecturer in Physiology of Pregnancy, Birth and Puerperium at the Midwives School of the University of Rome, and in 1984, he was appointed Professor of Obstetrical and Gynecological Pathology at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Rome La Sapienza. In 1986, he was the founder and Editor-in-Chief of UROGYNAECOLOGIA International Journal. From 1986 to 1989, he was the professor of Urogynecology at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Rome Tor Vergata. He is a full member of the ICS (International Continence Society), the SIU (Società Italiana di Urodinamica), the IUGA (International UroGynaecological Association), the SIGO (Società Italiana di Ginecologia e Ostetricia) and the Accademia Lancisiana di Roma. He is a founding member of the Società Italiana della Continenza, the Società Italiana di UroGinecologia, the Società Italiana della Continenza e di Uroginecologia, the AIUG (Associazione Italiana di Urologia Ginecologica e del Pavimento Pelvico) and the European Society for Gynecologic and Obstetric Investigation. He is treasurer of the AGICO (Associazione Ginecologi Consultoriali) and president of the FIOG (Federazione Italiana di Ostetricia e Ginecologia). In 2000, he was appointed by the Directory Board of the International UroGynecological Association and, Member of the Research and Development Committee. In 2001, he was appointed Member of the Board of Reviewers of the European Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Biology. He is the author or co-author of 121 publications in Italian- and foreign-indexed scientific journals.
